Prayer Ministry Mission and Vision

Prayer Ministry Vision
Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church accepts and acts on God’s admonition to be called a "house of prayer (Mark 11:17)." We commit to prayerfully confessing our sins and preparing ourselves individually for the worship and work of Jesus Christ and to praying for the needs of each other as the body of Christ. Realizing that we can do nothing for the cause of Christ on our own, we choose to be obedient to the Word of God and through the power of prayer to "pray in the Scripture on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests (Ephesians 6:18)."

What Is Prayer?
Prayer is the language of the soul. Prayer is how we communicate with and get to know God. Prayer involves both talking and listening. Prayer is powerful and important to our relationship with the Lord. Prayer is the process of A.C.T.S.
Adoration - giving our adoration and praise to God;
Confession - confessing our sins and asking forgiveness;
Thanksgiving - giving thanks to God with grateful hearts;
Supplication - offering our requests both for ourselves and for others.

How Does God Speak to Us?
God speaks to us through the Bible, the Holy Spirit, the church and circumstances. The Bible is the Holy Word of God and it is necessary that we discipline ourselves to read His Word daily. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is our enabler, our counselor, our teacher. Jesus said, "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."(John 14:26) God speaks to us through the church - the fellowship of believers - of which Christ is the Head. Listen to your brothers and sisters in Christ as they offer encouragement and guidance.
