Trinity on the Hill is now affiliated with the Global Methodist Church. Our current full members of Trinity on the Hill UMC (which disaffiliated from the UMC so it now no longer exists) are invited to become Charter Members of the new Trinity on the Hill Global Methodist Church. Each current member who wishes to have their membership moved will have the opportunity to make an intentional commitment by taking the membership vows of Trinity on the Hill GMC.
The membership vows we will ask are:
Do you believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit?
Do you confess Jesus Christ as Savior, put your whole trust in His grace, and promise to serve Him as your Lord?
Do you receive and profess the Christian faith as contained in the Scriptures?
Do you promise, according to the grace given you, to keep God’s holy will and commandments and walk in the same all the days of your life as a faithful member of Christ’s holy church?
Will you be loyal to Christ through the Global Methodist Church and joining with your brothers and sisters around the world do all in your power to fulfill its mission?
Will you be a faithful member of the Trinity on the Hill Global Methodist Church, doing all in your power to strengthen its ministries through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness as Christ’s representative in this world?
Any guests of Trinity who wish to join Trinity on the Hill GMC are welcome to join. This includes individuals who are transferring their membership from another church (any denomination) or joining by Profession of Faith which means they are not currently a member of another church. Those wishing to join our church must contact Lauren Benson, our Director of Connections. Anyone who wishes to join and has not been baptized will be baptized before they join. You can e-mail Lauren or call at 706-738-8822 x117 to discuss details and schedule a future date to join.
For our homebound members and members who worship remotely each week, we have an online form that may be completed to express your interest in transferring your membership to Trinity on the Hill GMC. Please use the link below to access our online transfer form.
Frequently Asked Questions
If I’m a current member of Trinity on the Hill and wish to transfer to Trinity on the Hill GMC, do I need to contact Lauren Benson?
– No, current members do not need to contact Lauren. You may complete the online transfer form or stop by the church office to transfer your membership.
Why do new people who wish to join need to contact Lauren?
– We need to gather information from any new folks who wish to join the church. We need to verify that everyone has been baptized or make arrangements for baptisms if needed. We schedule our joinings in advance to make sure everyone is properly accounted for.
What if someone is homebound or lives out of the area? Can they still transfer their membership?
– We have a form available online for anyone who cannot be present in church. They can complete over the phone or have someone help on their behalf. We will have a team visiting homebound members to assist them. The intent is to make every member of Trinity on the Hill GMC affirm their membership vows.
What if someone doesn’t join or transfer by the end of 2023?
– Anyone who doesn’t transfer to Trinity on the Hill GMC may continue to participate in worship. If they decide to transfer or join the church, they may do so. Only those who join by the end of 2023 will be considered our Charter Members.
