Mrs. Doris Simmons Weltch (1910-1997), a native of McRae, Ga., was an artist and a member of the Augusta Arts Association. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Augusta College. She was a member of Augusta Country Club Ladies’ Golf Association, Forest Hills Garden Club, the Augusta Symphony and Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. Her daughter, Panny W. Force, was inspired by her artwork and became an artist herself. Panny is an active member of Trinity on the Hill and also has several pieces of artwork of our church.
