Early on in our church’s (Wesley Memorial Methodist in High Point, NC) discernment and disaffiliation effort from UMC, I found inspiration from your church’s well reasoned and compelling videos and power point presentations on TOTH’s efforts concerning your UMC association.
I wanted to thank you for your inspiring example of Christian leadership. We were able to receive Conference approval to disaffiliate and leave UMC on November 4th after our September congregation vote to disaffiliate.
Due to the Mayor’s declaration of a State of Emergency and the associated curfew in effect until 12:00 PM, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 11:00 AM worship service today.
While we deeply value gathering together, the safety of our congregation and staff must come first. We believe this is the most responsible and faithful decision given the current conditions. We invite you to worship with us through a prerecorded message of Pastor Scott’s sermon for today, Part III of our Apprenticed by Jesus series, Follow & Abide, which is available here: https://youtu.be/0XlSWIS-jjs
