Disciple of Jesus Christ

Christ invites all people to receive salvation and to together follow Him as disciples. Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is not an option but the natural outcome of salvation by God’s grace through faith resulting in the disciple sharing in the works of Christ out of the holy love of God and neighbor. Jesus gives us the characteristics of His disciples in Matthew 4:19 when He said, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Here Jesus is calling His disciples to follow Him (“Follow Me”), be changed by Him through the Holy Spirit (“I will make you”), and share in His life and mission (“fishers of men”).

"Follow Me"

“Follow Me”: Jesus invites His disciples into a deep personal relationship with Himself and with each other. Jesus asks His disciples to learn from Him, to be dedicated to Him as Lord above all else, and to daily commit to live in obedience to His teachings (both the Old and New Testaments). A disciple’s relationship, dedication, and obedience to Jesus requires self-denial and may require great sacrifice. The greatest sign to the world that one is a disciple of Jesus Christ is obedience to Jesus’ command to “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

“I will make you”: Jesus transforms His disciples by the power of the Holy Spirit into His very image, so that they are enabled out of love to obey His commandments (both the Old and New Testaments). This transformation produces the very character of Christ within His disciples and enables them to think, speak, and act, in every instance, in a manner worthy of Christ, thus producing a living copy of the master. Such a transformed disciple of Jesus Christ experiences God’s genuine spiritual power and love, and thus their distinguishing characteristic becomes love of God and neighbor.

“Fishers of men”: Jesus commissions His disciples to join Him in His mission of serving, spreading the Gospel, and making disciples of all nations, so that all who believe and repent may themselves follow Jesus, be transformed, and enter into the mission of Christ. Christ calls His disciples to be “disciples who make disciples” and to grow in discipleship together as they gather together for worship, teaching, growth, support, encouragement, and accountability through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Adult Sunday School Classes

Our church offers 10 different adult Sunday school classes that vary in teaching styles and life stages. These groups meet faithfully in various Sunday school classes on our campus at 9:45am or 11:00am. Many of the classes are still meeting in creative ways as they continue to fellowship and grow together. If you are interested in visiting and/or joining any of these dynamic groups, please reach out to Katie Piggott!

Join a Trinity Tribe (small group) near you!  The purpose of these tribes is to create places where we can talk about how God is present in our everyday lives. This is not a Bible study. There is no curriculum. Each meeting revolves around everyone answering the question, “How did you experience God this week?” In answering this question, we give voice to our experiences with God. And, as we share with others, all will learn to be expectant of meeting Him in the daily and will be transformed by witnessing His Presence and knowing His goodness at new levels.

Tribes are NOT defined by age or marital status. We believe tribes should represent our congregation as a mixed group.

You must choose your tribe. Locations and times are listed below for reference.  During the registration process, you will be asked to choose a group.

*Please note:  There is a max number of participants in each group.  We will do our best to honor your request for date and time but if that group is full, we may need to put you in the next closest group. If you are interested in starting your own Tribe, please contact Rev. Liz Millar.

We currently have Tribes that meet on:
Sundays, 4:30-6pm at Mosaic Church in Evans
Mondays, 7-8pm near Savannah Rapids
Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm at Trinity (men only)
Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm near Piedmont Summerville Campus
Thursdays, 6-7pm near Augusta Exchange
